Position Overview
We are seeking a Deal Development Executive for our Deal Desk team in Global Sales Operations Services, to work with Named Account Executives on complex and non-standard deals; from discovery to deal closure. The individual will be leading deals through internal approvals, executive Deal Review Board and the contracting process. This involves engaging early in account reviews and analyzing previous spend and business as usual pricing to frame the deal. The ideal candidate will bring pricing, licensing optimization, enterprise solutions and value selling expertise.
The Deal Development Executive is on a team of eight, which is part of a fast-paced, growing global organization. Each Deal Development Executive is responsible for engaging with the sales teams to develop deals that are financially sound, contain operationally supportable business models and meet our customers’ needs. We are seeking an individual who has a proactive, collaborative and pragmatic approach, with strong decision making, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
• Main point of contact and deal advocate throughout the research, proposal, deal negotiation, quote and closure phases of high touch deals for Named Accounts (but not limited to them)
• Collaborate with other Deal Desk members to understand the customer profile. Model business as usual and previous spend in order to build a proposal based on DealMaker which covers customer key initiatives, stakeholders, and the value Autodesk brings to the enterprise relationship
• Help complete opportunity details, develop an official quote for the customer and guide team through contract signature
• Establish, maintain and update a project plan with defined timelines. Update systems of record throughout the process
• Lead the deal team in creation of a supportable, rational deal for both the customer and Autodesk
• Collaborate closely with extended teams in Legal, Sales Finance, Business Models and Operations
• Bring non-standard business model, operational requirements and risks to the attention of the broader organization and drive resolution of these issues
• Lead deal through appropriate approvals, including Deal Review Board
• Prepare handover package to business center
Minimum Qualifications
• A good understanding of sales process, revenue recognition including structuring of a deal, contract management and revenue forecasting
• Ideally come from a software technology company or similar desktop solution provider
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with a results-orientated mentality; self-motivated and enthusiastic
• Analytical, solution orientated and customer-focused internally and externally
• Experience working within a matrix organization with international and cross-functional exposure
• Proactive individual who can reach out across organizations to identify key stakeholders and ensure decision makers are provided with the necessary technical, financial and legal information to enable deal closure
• Able to lead and advise on the deals, provide expert advice and influence others
• Strong business acumen and political savvy to build rapport, lead and guide key stakeholders in the decision-making process while maximizing revenue and profit
• Ability to learn about Autodesk products quickly, not afraid to ask questions and can remain flexible and adaptable to changes across the organization
• Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads and meet deadlines
• Ideally a university degree or higher certificate in Business, Administration or similar academic studies
• Eight plus years corporate experience working directly with customers and with direct account sales executives
• Languages: English (bilingual with Spanish is a plus)
