The Branded Content Strategy Manager is responsible for overseeing the conceptualization and execution of national and local branded content campaigns for the USA TODAY NETWORK. He/She manages a team of National and Local Branded Content Strategists.
The Branded Content Strategy Manager brings together content strategy, content creation, design, development and production to create cross-platform storytelling experiences for advertisers that change the way they think and engage audiences in unexpected and relevant ways.
Working closely with partners in Sales, he/she develops branded content ideas and concepts to be proposed to potential advertisers. He/She has a track record of understanding advertiser’s brand stories and their objectives to create custom creative opportunities that leverage a full spectrum of digital media formats including articles, interactives, video and even Virtual Reality.
The Branded Content Strategy Manager is deeply involved and integrated into the full spectrum of the team’s services and products. He/She will be expected to contribute with ideas, concepts and solutions as they are pitched to potential partners and clients and execute and/or oversee the creation of the copy, design, development and delivery. He/She will work closely with the department’s management team to identify and pursue revenue-generating opportunities, develop new products and foster a constructive work environment.
He/She recruits, develops and leads a team of some of the smartest writers, marketers and storytellers to produce content that inspires audiences and delights advertising clients. In leading this team, he/she brings experience in editorial or creative agency management.
As a member of the GET Creative team, the Branded Content Strategy Manager is a storyteller driven to seek solutions for our partners and execute innovative concepts.
Responsibilities:
• Strategically lead and manage a team of local and national Branded Content Strategists to development and implement branded content executions.
• Recruit, coach and lead Branded Content Strategists to achieve success and professional growth.
• Collaborate constructively with the Branded Content (GET Creative) management team to identify and pursue revenue opportunities, process efficiencies and foster a positive and successful work environment.
• Brainstorm and ideate custom content concepts for potential clients and partners, both by responding to specific RFPs and coming up with unique proactive pitches.
• Confidently able to bring ideas to life through the written word for pitches/presentations and via meetings with clients/partners.
• Able to cultivate sources and experts/influencers across verticals for use in multiple campaigns.
• Able to work on multiple campaigns simultaneously, and under deadline, while being flexible to the client’s needs.
• Collaborate actively and constructively in a small team environment.
• Work productively across departments to execute projects and drive success.
• Demonstrate a passion and ability to learn new products, techniques and tools to create compelling and groundbreaking products.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of content production experience at an agency or publisher
• Recent experience managing a team of content creators including editors, producers and writers
• Experience creating content across digital mediums, including but not limited to: infographics, interactives, 2D video, VR video
• Ability to create content across topic verticals and organically weave advertising messaging throughout compelling storytelling
• Ability to pivot quickly without losing speed, focus or quality
