Develop, produce and oversee social media/brand content for SeaWorld San Diego and Aquatica San Diego to increase fan following/retention, enhance engagement and drive social media-based revenue for both parks. Enthusiastically represents SeaWorld by displaying a positive attitude, high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job.
Principal Duties:
• Develop, produce and oversee social media/brand content initiatives to drive traffic, engagement, and leads that deliver sales and fan retention.
• Develop editorial requirements and governance; create and manage editorial calendar and organizational workflows.
• Collaborate with all park and Corporate marketing disciplines to produce effective content marketing plans that have the flexibility to adjust to ever evolving social media trends.
• Lead the integration of content development programs with brand campaigns.
• Oversee/supervise social media programs and presence on, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat, the SWSD blog and any emerging social media platforms.
• Create and schedule social media posts/updates.
• Provide input into paid marketing campaigns within social media to help reach more consumers and fans.
• Lead the development of social media strategies and tactics based on existing marketing plans, corporate direction, and ongoing industry research and trends on how the brand is most effectively represented to the consumer.
• Identify digital trends and the implications that these technologies have on marketing to the company’s social media target consumer and make recommendations to the continual evolution of social media strategies and tactics.
• Assist with other communication and public relations functions as necessary to accomplish departmental goals and tasking to include coordination of consumer media activities and projects.
• Participate in Public Relations short-term and long-term planning.
• Monitor and track social media engagement and conversions, and report trends using available Google analytics and other tools and systems.
• Through analysis, determine what’s working within social media and what’s not.
• Provide measurement and optimization of programs on a regular and ongoing basis.
• Identify trends and how to best evolve content development and social media programs.
• Identify emerging social media networks, apps, and tools.
Qualifications:
• 3 years of marketing, communications/public relations, social media / content creation experience required; or combined equivalent of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications/public relations or a related business field.
• Experience in content development for a growing social audience.
• Experience with Google analytics and other measurement tools.
• Intermediate Photoshop and video-editing software (iMovie, Final Cut Pro, etc.) experience required.
• Proficient experience in Microsoft Office.
• Deep knowledge of the latest social media, media, entertainment and interactive trends and have a proven ability to assess and report consumer trends with analytic programs such as Google Analytics and other industry resources.
• SEO understanding, content categorization and structure, content development, distribution and measurement.
• Ability to manage and prioritize diverse and complex projects while meeting stringent deadlines and seizing emerging opportunities.
• Editorial mindset that understands the content audiences consume and how to create content that is consistent with the park/Company’s brand voice, style and tone.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with an ability to adapt communication style to a number of different audiences.
• Ability to work with various departments and within varying organizational structures to achieve park and Company goals.
• Ability to analyze and present content and social performance.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a dynamic and demanding environment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Read, analyze, and interpret general business documents and periodicals.
• Write routine reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Effectively present information to individuals and group.
• Positively interact with guests and co-workers of all ages, different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or languages, and individuals with special needs.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds.
