Requirements
Major Responsibilities:
• Well versed and complies with Federal, State and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, obtaining qualified opinions, enforcing adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions.
• Oversees STD/FMLA/NYPFL and other state leaves, including Canadian leaves. Manage multifaceted leave cases.
• Conducts New Hire benefits orientation.
• Oversees the reconciliation and issuance of payment for monthly insurance bills in a timely manner.
• Oversee ACA administration.
• Manage Workers Comp claims.
• Collect and analyze data for our group 401(k) plan non-discrimination testing as well as compile data for other various testing that is required for some of the other benefit plans.
• Works closely with payroll to ensure accuracy of benefits deductions.
• Play integral role in the open enrollment process.
• Provide client support when issues arise.
• Manage Wellness Initiatives - Flu shots, CPR training.
Required Skills / Knowledge:
• Various facets in human resources with a concentration in Benefits Administration.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work independently.
• Knowledgeable and familiar with ERISA, FMLA, Disability, HIPAA, Section 125 plans, Deferred Contribution plans, Company’s policies, procedures and regulations regarding employee benefit issues and privacy requirements.
• Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, GMail and HRIS database.
• Sharp attention to detail. Must be able to travel occasionally; and work overtime as needed.
Experience Needed:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in benefit administration.
Educational Background Required:
• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in business or Human Resources.
