The Social Media Intern is responsible for coordinating and executing ProjectArt’s social media strategy, working across key social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. This role offers the intern a total immersion into a busy mission-driven business and the successful candidate will work closely with key members of our national staff, and the organization’s partners and artists to catalyze our social media presence into exciting content-generating juggernaut in the cause-driven art world. This role will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence and gaining visibility for our brand among supporters, partners, artists, youth and the general public.
About ProjectArt
ProjectArt is currently the nation’s largest art school for youth, without owning a single building. With staff, partners and program in six major US metros, the organization continues to grow at a remarkable pace, while impacting its communities. ProjectArt is a federally tax-exempt nonprofit institution.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Curate the organization’s brand across social media channels – Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Snapchat
• Create and implement strategy to grow followers and engagement on all channels, ensuring content is aligned with marketing and fundraising initiatives
• Work with External Affairs Manager on crafting messages that meet institutional, fundraising, and marketing goals.
• Work with presenting organizations to produce content for use in promoting the organization’s tour engagements
• Oversee digital advertising campaigns, including on social media platforms.
• Co-manage email databases with marketing assistant
• Work with External Affairs Manager and interns to ensure main projectart.org website and microsites remain up-to-date
• Analyze and report monthly on results across channels
Qualifications:
• 1-2 years experience in social media/digital marketing, preferably in the cultural sector
• Ability to evolve techniques with the changing landscape of digital marketing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
• Understanding of Instagram and Facebook advertising
• Understanding of email databases and segmentation targeting.
• Ability to use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to track conversions
• An aesthetic eye and superb communication, writing, and proofing skills.
• Self-driven; able to multitask and meet deadlines.
