We are looking to find a Senior Manager, Program Management Office to lead, transform, grow and expand the capabilities of our Program Management team. Our program managers lead globally distributed, cross-functional engineering teams made up of mechanical, electrical, acoustics, software and firmware engineers and work closely with our partners in logistics, planning, and sales operations. The Senior Manager will be part of the engineering leadership team, collaborating closely with cross functional leaders within the Pro division, Bose, and through our global network. The Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing the work of the program/project management staff to ensure programs and projects meet organization and business goals and objectives from concept to production.
Success will require innovation and perseverance to transform and mature the team’s working methods and effective leadership to foster a collaborative environment of effectiveness and program management excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, adapt and champion consistent and effective project and risk management processes, best practices, and policies for a fast moving, rapidly growing product development organization
• Effectively deliver the entire portfolio of product development programs on schedule and budget, while meeting quality goals
• Collaborate closely with the division’s senior management team, the engineering leadership team, and partner organizations to manage resource needs, product delivery timelines, and effective financial performance of product development.
• Develop, recruit, and lead a staff of talented Project/Program Managers
• Lead through coaching, mentoring and building a culture of excellence and high performance; maintaining a respectful and engaging work environment; and identifying personal and organizational growth opportunities.
• Inspirationally lead the project management team, based on a foundation of Bose Essence & Values, within a rapidly growing and transforming organization
• Participate as a key member of the engineering leadership team to develop cross-functional work processes, collaboration, and excellence
• Champion, adapt, and transform the division’s product development culture and processes to maximize effectiveness, efficiency, and meeting commitments for a rapidly growing global product development organization.
• Develop deeply collaborative working relationships with Bose Pro’s global network of Joint Development Partners and Manufacturers, as well as Bose partner organizations, to maximize efficiency of leveraged global product development
• Work within Bose and with external resources to develop best in class project management approaches, communications, culture, and processes.
• Effectively integrate and guide highly integrated hardware and software/firmware product development teams and processes
• Approximately 10% international and domestic travel required
Qualifications:
• BS in an engineering discipline as a minimum, MS or MBA is a plus
• Proven success leading a complex team of product/project development professionals, particularly with a globally distributed team
• Enthusiastically rises to provide a leadership vision for the challenges of a rapidly growing and transforming team in a dynamic environment
• Proven success in working with external partners to collaboratively deliver complex products to market
• Knowledge and experience in Agile, Visual Management, Lean, and other project management domains
• Results orientated, self-motivated, resilient and able to perform calmly under pressure.
• Demonstrated knowledge and success in leading both hardware and software projects, particularly in successfully integrating concurrent HW/SW development
• A collaborative member of an organizational leadership team developing and adapting culture, norms, and work processes within a highly dynamic and growing organization
• Experience in Performance Management, Coaching, Change Management, Supervision, and Fostering Teamwork is critical.
• PMP Certification/Experience
