THE UNDERSTUDY PROGRAM at THE COSMOPOLITAN OF LAS VEGAS

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
• Responsible for creating a positive and professional impression.
• Assist supervisor in staff communications including meetings, projects and programs.
• Maintains accurate files and records for projects and programs as requested.
• Safeguards the confidentiality of programs, projects and communications dealing with organizational and business activities.
• Learn the roles of employees in the Hotel Division including Housekeeping.
• Assist supervisors and managers on projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned/required.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• At least 21 years of age.
• 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at a U.S. accredited university in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree.
• Currently be a Junior/Senior that will graduate between May 2018 - June 2019.
• Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Solid interpersonal skills.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• A "can-do" attitude.
• Enjoy working in a fun, fast paced environment.
• Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred:
• Prior work experience in hospitality.

Work is performed in an office environment and throughout the property in all locations. Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. A casino environment typically allows smoking.
Constant contact with executives, department management, applicants, employees and guests is necessary. Requires prolonged sitting or standing and mobility. Requires bending and reaching. Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires eye/hand coordination. Requires use of standard office equipment. Requires basic math. Ability to push and/or pull file cabinet drawers weighing up to 5 lbs. Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. Ability to comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other instructions.
