The Implementation Specialist collaborates with the Heinemann Directors of Sales, local representatives and customers to develop and execute implementation plans for Fountas and Pinnell Classroom.Implementation Specialists are expected to have in-depth knowledge of K-12 literacy and professional development, the ability to use their skills to build and maintain a trusted advisor relationship with clients in order to provide guidance in ensuring a successful launch of Fountas and Pinnell Classroom, while identifying areas of literacy focus that require fee-based professional development.
This position is accountable for organizing, creating and delivering orientation collateral and resources including blended learning options (in-person, webinars, digital courses, etc.) to customers in order to further develop relationships with Heinemann products and to encourage investment in professional development. Implementation Specialists work closely with Directors of Sales, and the internal marketing team to anticipate and fulfill training needs, and with the Professional Development Team to identify and support future sales of consultant days required by the district.
This position would ideally be located within commuting distance to the Portsmouth NH office, remote status is also a consideration.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Demonstrates deep understanding of Fountas and Pinnell publications – BAS, LLI, Guided Reading, Literacy Continuum, Teaching for Comprehending and Fluency, Literacy Beginnings, etc.
• Demonstrates deep understanding of professional development and facilitating the establishment of PLCs
• Partners with Director of Sales to identify customers in need of implementation strategy for Fountas and Pinnell Classroom.
• Works with Heinemann representatives to understand client needs and transfer this knowledge to the professional development team.
• Attends key customer meetings to further develop interest and engagement in Heinemann resources, provide content expertise and guidance on purchase and implementation.
• Presents implementation support in an organized, accurate, and motivating manner that elicits audience response and provides individuals a successful experience with Fountas and Pinnell Classroom.
• Serves as a lead liaison between the customer and the professional development team.
• Communicates information regarding customer needs to the Director of Sales in order to capitalize on sales opportunities and position product effectively.
• Develops training for assigned products as required.
• Helps train and mentor new Implementation Specialists.
Additional responsibilities may include assignments such as:
• Analyzing and/or responding to district evaluation rubrics.
• Recordings of orientation overviews (customer-facing).
• Presentation/implementation development (content expertise).
• Development of specialized workshops for pre-sale.
• Peer presentation coaching.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education or related degree in literacy instruction and/or intervention is required; MA is preferred.
• A minimum of ten years of successful education experience.
• MS Office; proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook and intermediate to advanced level skills with PowerPoint.
• Experience using virtual meeting tools such as WebEx or something similar.
Preferred Knowledge and Abilities:
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Highly organized and able to transfer strategies into actions that deliver results.
• Outstanding coaching skills with ability to develop same skills in others.
Travel:
• Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends, and travel extensively up to 40% – driving, flying and overnight travel.
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
• This is a position with irregular work hours, requiring overnights and extensive travel.
Physical Requirements:
• Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
• The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
• Ability to lift book boxes and other related items that weigh up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
