Position Overview
The Tax Manager will play a pivotal role within a high-performing tax team. The PSAV Tax Department currently has a partially outsourced compliance/provision function to allow more focus on high impact areas. The Tax Manager will work closely with tax colleagues to manage the PSAV federal income tax function, including tax planning, management of IRS and state tax audits, tax return compliance, and tax accounting for external financial reporting. The Tax Manager will report into Director, Tax.
Key Job Responsibilities
Compliance & Reporting
• Preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions, ASC 740 workpapers and FIN 48 documentation; processing of federal and state estimated payments; all supporting documentation for the preparation of the Federal Income Tax return, form 5471, form 8858 and all state income tax returns;
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and SEC tax and financial reporting requirements by studying regulations, communicating with outside tax advisors, advising management on needed actions, documenting company positions, and enforcing adherence to requirements;
• Identifying and mitigating risks in Tax area, through a proper control system;
• Request additional information and assistance as needed in communication with the Accounting/Finance leadership. Ensure accuracy in all work and escalate concerns to the appropriate management authority;
• Prepare ad hoc reporting as needed.
Audit Support
• Managing IRS and state tax audits, including preparing responses to information/document requests and coordinating assistance with tax analyst in the preparation of documentation for income tax audits.
Research
• Maintain appropriate knowledge base and share information with team members related to the sales and use and income tax issues to which PSAV must adhere.
• Through research and self-development, the successful employee will stay abreast of changes which may impact the Company and make appropriate changes to reflect these needs within the Tax team.
Staff Development
• Ability to lead and manage a Tax Analyst ensuring accuracy of all work performed.
• Define and communicate a career growth and development path as well as manage any human resources responsibilities including discipline, coaching, performance appraisals, career discussions and adherence to company policies.
• Cross-train additional team members as deemed appropriate to meet the needs of the business.

Required Experience:
Experience Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance, business or related field.
• JD, MBA, CPA, or Masters of Taxation preferred
• At least 5 years of tax experience; and
• Strong analytical, organizational, technical, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Requirements:
• Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm and/or large corporate environment;
• IRS and state audit experience;
• Tax provision & financial reporting experience; and/or
• Tax research & planning experience.
• Knowledge of international tax a plus.
