Hearst Digital Media (HDM) is seeking a full-time Director of Content Distribution. This person will be responsible for developing HDM’s proprietary and 3rd party social distribution tools, while also building on our distribution strategy of the future. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a pulse on the dynamic media landscape that employs a data-driven approach to everything they do. They must be able to work effectively amongst internal & external stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, Audience, Analytics, and Editorial. This role is based in New York City and reports into the Executive Director, Growth & Innovation.
Responsibilities:
• Act as business lead on the development of an industry-first social distribution tool that works seamlessly with HDM’s proprietary CMS and analytics systems
• Own the social content distribution strategy across Hearst’s portfolio of media brands.
• Lead analysis & reporting to Hearst Digital Senior Management.
• Using technology, develop efficiencies in team workflow across content partners.
• Work with the Partner Management team on further developing distribution specifications and capabilities on content partners.
Qualifications:
• 4+ years of experience in digital media, specifically wth a publisher.
• 2+ years of experience in analytics or digital product development
• Advanced proficiency with web analytics (i.e. Google Analytics, Parse.ly) and social analytics (i.e. Facebook Insights, CrowdTangle, True Anthem, SocialFlow, Instagram Insights, Dash Hudson)
• Previous experience working with Product, Engineering, & Data Analytics teams.
• Strong knowledge of digital video and analytics
• Must be able to manage feedback from multiple parties and adapt to change
• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
• Must be able to work flexible hours as needed
