The Role
At W, we value our presence on social media platforms in exactly the same way we do our website audience. We believe that creating unique and special stories that play out exclusively on social media is vital to our ability to engage with our diverse audience. For that reason, W is looking for a Social Media Manager that has a strategic vision to move the brand forward in the social media space and a passion for the types of fashion and culture that W covers.
Candidates should be adept at utilizing social strategy and tactics to increase social engagement and click-through, and should be able to pair taste with quantitative findings to make decisions on everything from copy and voice to types of collaborators and new social platforms. Additionally, experience with creating social stories beyond the written word is a welcome plus as we are growing our video and motion experiences across Snapchat, Instagram Stories, and Facebook Live.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with W’s Site Director and social media team members to develop and execute creative programming for W’s social channels
• Work with digital, print, and creative departments to secure exclusive content for social channels including behind-the-scenes photos, videos, on-site coverage from live events, and tentpole activations
• Manage and oversee social content partnerships both within Condé Nast and across the web with like-minded brands.
• The role is encouraged to bring new ideas to the table and push the brand’s boundaries in every way possible
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
• 4-5 years of relevant experience managing social media for a large brand or media publisher.
• Proven experience hitting key social metrics
• A strong knowledge of social analytics tools and social scheduling a must
• Good editorial judgment, writing skills, and ability to capture W’s voice to reach new and established audiences
• Confident, collaborative, and communicative with a desire to thrive in a fast-paced media environment
• Video and photo editing skills a plus
