I. Job Summary
| Major goals and objectives.
The receptionist answers the main phone line for the television station and is the first person most customers, viewers and vendors encounter whether they are visiting or calling KCTV/KSMO. Customer service skills are of the utmost importance in this position. The receptionist must be able to answer questions that viewers have regarding network programming, KCTV/KSMO local programming or direct the callers to the appropriate person that will have the answer. The receptionist is also responsible for processing, sorting, and distributing all incoming and outgoing mail and packages (via the United States Postal Office, Federal Express, and UPS). Position maintains a visitor log to assist with station security and safety policies.
The receptionist also assists the Director of Human Resources with HR Administrative functions, including but not limited to FCC recruitment job posting letters and e-mails, job summary reports, annual MVR checks, annual payola/plugola statements, compensation and contract tracking, contest verification, new hire processing and backup in accounts payable processing. The receptionist also maintains the office supply inventory and does all online ordering of office supplies for the television station and reconciles the monthly statement. This position interacts with all departments in the television station and assists as back-up for various administrative duties on special projects as time permits.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered.
Education:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience as a receptionist
Minimum 1 year experience in a customer service, HR administration or similar role preferred
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of multi-line phone system, postage meter, Microsoft office, fax machine and general accounting procedures. Must possess very strong internal and external customer service skills and able to juggle multiple projects at once. Must be professional and comfortable dealing with all types of personalities and demeanors. Organized, calm demeanor necessary to survive in this position.
