Responsible for the development and implementation of strategies, tools, models and processes to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of enterprise resource planning and allocation. Works collaboratively across the organization to identify functional resource capacity, existing manpower allocations and known constraints. Engages business partners in the design and development of automation and tools needed for the administration of an effective and transparent enterprise resource planning process. Engages the EPM leadership team and others in the organization to understand enterprise resource demands, and assists the executive team (ESC) in Portfolio Management decisions by identifying resource constraints, alternative solutions, portfolio options and trade-offs. Drives best practices and standards of excellence in the areas of Resource Planning. Continually seeks opportunities to streamline resource allocation processes and procedures across the organization.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities
• Owns the design, development and implementation of enterprise-wide capacity and resource planning systems, tools and processes in support of Executive Steering Committee (ESC) decision making.
• Develops and implements tools and metrics for resource and capacity analysis, trend identification and reporting. Regularly reports findings, alternative solutions and recommendations to the EPM leadership team for use by ESC.
• Coaches, manages and mentors functional resource managers and others in the areas of capacity analysis, resource planning and performance metrics.
• Partners cross-functionally with functional resource managers, project managers and others within the EPM to understand capacity and resource issues, opportunities and constraints. Makes recommendations and helps to identify short-term and long-term solutions to resourcing issues.
• Develops, communicates and supports strategies and models to enhance capacity and resource planning effectiveness across the enterprise.
• Demonstrates strong analytic skills. Clearly and succinctly presents assumptions and findings related to capacity and resource plans, both verbally and in writing, along with issues, risks, sensitivities, alternative solutions and recommendations to EPM leadership team and others as needed.
• Establishes and tracks enterprise-level resourcing metrics to understand and assess performance related to planned vs. actual forecasting of demands, capacity and actual resource utilization.
• Analyzes and reports on capacity planning accuracy and efficiency, as well as planned vs. actual utilization, providing valuable insights to the project delivery teams.
• Leverages external and internal best practices in capacity analysis and resource planning to develop and implement resource allocation models and standards.
• Applies continuous improvement principles to drive process and organizational improvements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA highly desired.
• Five years of applicable business experience required. Experience must demonstrate proficient skills and knowledge in the areas of resource planning, process engineering and business analytics.
• Exceptional problem-solving, decision making and critical thinking skills required.
• Team player with excellent consulting skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to lead and influence others.
• Results driven, with a proven ability to lead significant cross-functional efforts as an individual contributor.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required. Prior experience with resource and capacity planning software / tools highly desired.
• Self-starter, with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong fit with the company’s culture.
• Strong project planning and management skills are a must; ability to breakdown complex problems into manageable goals is required.
• Ability to synthesize various, independently generated data points into a cohesive analysis.
