Job Description
The Sr. Manager / Director of Corporate Development is responsible for the evaluation of strategic investment opportunities and day-today management over existing and future A+E Ventures portfolio companies. The Sr. Manager / Director will report directly to the Vice President of Corporate Development.
Corporate Development:Identify, evaluate, structure and help implement new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and acquisitions to drive profitable growth. Manage due diligence process and construct financial analyses for valuation. Generate business cases and investment recommendations for CFO, COO, and CEO. Lead deal teams to manage all elements of deal execution and structure deals and prepare team sheets and proposals for target companies.
Business Development:Develop external industry relationships through attendance at key conferences and lead meetings to foster partnerships with innovative global media companies and investors. Network within the emerging digital video ecosystem players including startups and venture funds to ensure early warning on industry developments and identify potential partners and investment opportunities.
Portfolio Management:Coordinate with various A+E teams to facilitate successful integrations and ongoing partnerships with portfolio companies. Provide support and guidance to portfolio management teams, including but not limited to board participation, budget approval, long-term business planning, and strategic goal setting. Manage future funding processes and diligence.
Industry and Competitive Research:Educate management/business units on trends that impact the company at both the corporate and business unit levels. Assessment and strategic analysis of key investment trends affecting the media and entertainment industry from consumer, technological, and competitive standpoints. Keep senior management informed on emerging industry trends and their potential impacts on A+E through regular formal and informal communications including Management Team presentations.
Qualification Requirements
• 1-3 years at a top tier consulting firm, investment bank, venture capital or private equity firm
• Strong quantitative skills, advanced knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint, comfortable working with large amounts of data
• Strong problem solving skills including project prioritization, critical thinking and hypothesis development
• Ability to develop cogent arguments and present them concisely to a range of stakeholders, including executives
Educational Requirements MBA/Equivalent Masters’ degree from a top tier school
Media/Technology sector experience preferred
International experience working with business units outside of US/Canada
