WXIA, the TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate in Atlanta, GA, is looking for a qualified individual to support its Marketing team with a focus on multi-platform product analysis. This role will provide thought leadership and promote continued adoption of audience-focused, data-driven strategies for the Marketing and News departments to meet business needs by growing TV viewership and digital engagement. This individual will also have a detailed tactical understanding of the data from various sources, inter-working of reporting systems (ad system, internal tools, etc.) with the ability to raise issues and suggest improvements, troubleshooting data quality issues across various sources of data and clearly communicate findings to the appropriate teams with proposed solutions, and providing support to the team leaders in their analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain relevant television audience reports and processes to help gather insights in an efficient and meaningful way.
• Deliver a positive, energetic, team-oriented effort; work well with groups and thrive in a creative and competitive environment.
• Serve as a linear ratings expert and go-to research partner within the team and across the organization.
• Collect, analyze and interpret Nielsen data and other consumer tracking sources such as Omniture and Comscore for recurring reports, including daily, weekly, and quarterly ratings reports for WXIA, WATL and competitors.
• Create custom analysis such as: media planning, viewing behavior, audience affinity.
• Collaborate with digital and social analytics team members on cross-platform initiatives, including development and tracking of content viewership and brand engagement across platforms and devices.
• Effectively visualize and present data and insights to key stakeholders.
• Strategic thinking and presentation of industry news and concepts relating to the evolving media landscape.
• Research, analyze and report on changing consumer behaviors & media industry trends
• Assist with the execution of primary research studies.
• Other responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor/manager.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree (preferably quantitative background, i.e.- Marketing, Economics, Statistics)
• 1+ years in media, web analytics, digital advertising research or related fields.
• Experience managing projects and coordinating with others.
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, listening).
• Must know MS Office; possess expertise with PowerPoint and Excel. Must be accustomed to working with and manipulating large amounts of raw data.
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in a high-paced ambiguous environment either in a team setting or independently.
• Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and projects under deadline pressure.
• Driven individual who takes “initiative” rather than a “wait to be asked” mentality.
