Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities: The legal intern will be responsible for reviewing, tracking and summarizing key legal and author contracts.
The intern will:
• Learn key terms of a publishing agreement
• Become experienced with multiple different contract boilerplate styles
• Learn details of other commonly utilized contracts in the publishing industry
• Fine-tune skills of issue spotting and key point summarization
• Utilize various internal software and databases for tracking and confirming rights
• Identify potential opportunities for under-utilized assets
• Assist in streamlining rights-related processes
• Some clerical work (e.g. photocopying, filing, data entry, email, note taking, etc)
Qualifications
Must be a Fall 2018 College Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student
Skills Required:
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Research skills
• Previous exposure to contracts a plus

Industry Knowledge: General understanding of publishing contracts and related rights is a plus, but not required.
