The USA TODAY NETWORK, the leader in delivering engaging news and information, has an immediate opening for a New Business Development Sales Executive. We deliver an ENGAGED Audience using a variety of SOPHISTICATED TOOLS and resources, and provide our clients the INTEGRATED MARKETING Expertise to help them meet their goals.
This role will cover the Western US Region and will require about 40% travel. Preferred base location is Phoenix, AZ but may be based elsewhere in the West.
Here’s what you will do:
• Act as the driver for new business acquisition to meet or exceed new business revenue goals.
• Utilizing market and business vertical data you will open doors and bring value to leads at the front end of the sales process.
• Develop and work a pipeline of potential customers, produce accurate forecasts.
• Master a broad understanding of all products offered and how they meet the different goals of potential clients, articulating how products can help businesses from a high-level perspective.
• Build and execute on prospecting cadences that involve multiple messages and channels. Build a personal network to include connectors in the region that will make warm introductions.
• Be tenacious and relentless about finding the right people at the right companies with which to meet and share our story and you relish in making calls and meeting with prospective consistently.
• Bring immediate value to potential clients by sharing new/different information.
• Utilize your natural curiosity and mastery of asking the right questions to uncover potential holes or optimization in current marketing strategies to then tie need to quantifiable metrics that align with the goals of the prospect.
• Apply your excellent verbal and written communication skills to promote the value of the brand both in style and content.
• As a self-starter, you’ll bring the plan for the week as well as the quarter and beyond to efficiently manage a large prospecting pipeline.
• Manage all activity and opportunities in Salesforce as the hub for all client information, share delegate and collaborate directly from Salesforce to other members of the team.
• Drive initiatives for constructive change and look for opportunities to encourage others to become agents for change.
• Work to build a consensus with sales team, support, management and other internal departments regarding strategy and execution of sales activity.
• Work to build “outside the box” ideas to develop and close new business.

• You possess 2+ years of outside sales experience.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or equivalent combination of education/experience and/or training
• Lead on assignments and ability to take the lead
• 2+ years in a quota carrying sales role.
• Cold calling experience and new business development
• History of meeting/exceeding revenue goals
• Digital MarketingExperience Required
