Overview
Job Summary: We are an in-house Creative Services Department that focuses heavily on marketing and promotional design for book products and the publishing industry. We are searching for an enthusiastic and passionate Designer, we are looking for an individual who can manage multiple projects, ranging from print to web to promotional pieces. As well as, someone with an outgoing personality who will confidently support and enhance our creative force. Along with a head-turning portfolio and solid Design skills, this person should have the ability to concept and create their own vision. This candidate should also feel comfortable brainstorming and communicating ideas within our open and energetic workspace. Web design, coding, and photography skills are desired, but not a requirement.

Essential Responsibilities:
• High level of skill working with Creative Suite programs
• Concept and create brand logos, print and web marketing pieces, ad campaigns and other creative ideas
• Collaborate on meaningful brand strategies
• Communicate smoothly and effectively, comfortable with presentations and client interaction
• Ensure that pieces are produced perfectly, on budget and on time, understanding the importance of accuracy and time management
Qualifications
Knowledge:Maintain a working knowledge of visual trends in retail and publishing and have the ability to apply this to daily responsibilities. Must be able to spec papers, inks, foils and custom materials. Proficiency in all tools required for the execution of design responsibilities (i.e. Software, printing, materials).
Work Experience:Five years of professional design experience, either on a work-for-hire basis or as part of a firm. Professional or personal portfolio showing evidence of creative ability, typography, and color sensibility.
Education:BA from a respected institution in Design, art, commercial design or related field.
Industry Knowledge:Publishing industry experience not required
