Account Executive - Digital Sales, Auto

The USA TODAY Network Automotive enterprise wide solutions sales team will drive a retail auto industry transformation. Our team is tasked with building the strongest portfolio in the industry that will provide end-to-end digital marketing, wholesale and commerce solutions for automotive segment customers. Our teams capitalize on the utilization of data, leveraging for retention and strategic selling opportunities to grow revenue.
This role will focus on selling our suite of digital solutions to Franchise dealers within Gannett’s markets with the opportunity to expand beyond our current footprint. We are seeking an experienced digital sales expert that enjoys identifying client opportunities, and providing inspiring customer solutions that utilize an integrated suite of digital marketing solutions. As an Account Executive, you will partner with small to medium sized businesses to create effective digital marketing programs that bring increased revenues. You will be accountable for achieving and exceeding sales objectives with an emphasis on new business development within the automotive vertical. The ideal candidate will have delivered results in both “traditional” and “new” media environments.
Responsibilities:
This Account Executive for our Automotive Group drives revenue through the development of relationships in the Automotive vertical. This position will focus on expanding our customer base and increasing penetration with current clients.
This role is responsible for
• Demonstrate knowledge of digital products and applications, including (but not limited to): SEO/SEM, mobile, social media, reputation management, targeted ads (geo-fenced, behavioral) and how they work with each other.
• Prospecting and closing new business accounts, developing creative solutions based on advertiser needs/wants and providing superior customer service; responding to client needs in a timely manner.
• Strategically developing client presentations, maintain client lists, meet and exceed quarterly sales budgets and goals.
• Qualify prospect dealers to determine minimum level of opportunity.
• Responsible for explaining digital marketing concepts and benefits to clients, including how our products work better together.
• Gain understanding of dealer objectives, needs, and requirements
• Maintain a deep understanding of the market and monitor competitive products, innovations and activities.
• Can effectively understand and communicate campaign performance to align KPIs with ROI/attribution.
• Collaborate with dealer field sales team to identify prospects and develop strategies for clients.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the Time.
Qualifications:
• 2 - 5 years’ sales experience with a history of innovation and goal achievement along with digital marketing expertise and passionate about driving results through creative problem solving.
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience building customer-based revenue and in delivering customer solutions based on identified needs.
• History of driving results and the ability to think and act strategically
• Ability to sell competitively and strategically using data and insights; exposure to selling methodologies including the Challenger model are preferred
• Possess a strong foundation for strategic and tactical selling within a solution based sale. Aptitude or acumen for digital marketing
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Strong business development focus
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
• Google and Facebook Certifications are a plus
• Automotive sales and/or marketing experience preferred
