Description
The Associate Web Producer will help facilitate the content and technical objectives for the National Geographic Expeditions websites. This role will help assist with the project management of major and minor projects relating to site content and features that enhance the core functionality on the websites. In addition, this person will assist with the coordination and collection of site assets in order to build original content and implement creative initiatives for the websites.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for the set up and execution of all daily/weekly/monthly website changes and updates including managing data related to trip itineraries, lodge information, special offers, and pricing. Use content management system(s) to create, update, and maintain landing pages, promo pods, video galleries, and vanity URLs/redirects. Upload and update metadata to optimize content according to third party SEO recommendations. Support Sr. Web Producer with the development of a new Expeditions website.
• Makes sure that all content and details of the National Geographic Expeditions website are updated and accurate.
• Work with internal product teams and third-party developers to trouble-shoot bugs and site issues. Assist with testing all launches of new content and functionality.
• Ensures that websites are providing the best user experience for consumers.
• Support the growth of user-generated content across websites and social media and support all testing initiatives.
• Encourages website engagement and increased lead generation.
• Work on various photography research projects (including trip photo galleries, itinerary pages, and landing pages). Research stock agency websites and internal photo resources. Correct and crop photos to specific sizes and keep track of usage details.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in related field with a minimum of one year in eCommerce and/or online experience building original content. Travel industry experience a plus.
• English/excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Analyzing research data to help guide marketing strategy.
• Executing tasks with professionalism and business experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, including presentation and negotiation skills.
• Superior organizational and project management skills are required.
• Working knowledge of NFL, UFC and/or golf current events is preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook is required.
