At Bose, we are passionate about helping people reach their fullest human potential. As a member of our global HR Talent & Organization Development team (TOD), you will support the Automotive Systems Division (ASD) in a senior level, high-impact, hands-on role, working towards this promise.
In close partnership with the division’s leaders and our HR colleagues, your primary role is to help ASD navigate the changes essential to their business model transformation, while also building capability for long-term organizational effectiveness. You’ll bring strong business acumen, outstanding ability to develop line and HR partnerships, deep change navigation and data-driven insights to this a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You’re quick to build trusted advisor status and are savvy to global, matrixed and both B2B and B2C market conditions. Your powerful questions, practical models, and consultative approach will help your clients consider different options so they can make the best decisions for their business and teams. You’re a systems-thinker that sees how all the pieces need to come together, yet pragmatic enough to know what to tackle first and how to structure work in such a way that drives results.
While our HR TOD team is well-established, this is a new role dedicated to ASD. You will be based primarily in Stow, MA with some time spent in our Corporate Center in Framingham and new offices at Boston Landing in Brighton, MA (spring 2018). Given the division’s global locations, some degree of international travel is expected.
Core responsibilities include:
OD Consulting & Project Leadership
• Bring coaching and consulting skills to business unit transformation needs, with deep expertise in change management, systems thinking, organization design, leadership and team effectiveness, organization analysis, assessment methodologies, talent planning (e.g., development planning, succession, competency profiling), employee engagement, culture, talent analytics and metrics development
• Contract for, design and deliver on defined, high-impact OD initiatives considering the big details that astonish and the small details that matter; working in close partnership with senior leaders, HR Business Partners and other Centers of Excellence (within HR, Lean, Internal Communications)
• Support the performance of the division’s leadership team through team and individual coaching, both formal and ad hoc; Collaborate with other support organizations, e.g., Finance, to identify areas of team performance and collaboration opportunities
• Work across the enterprise on cross-business unit OD engagements (when the opportunity arises)
• Support HR Business Partner in Talent Planning and Talent Strategy work, helping to facilitate talent reviews and development of talent and organization strategy. Identify opportunities for TOD to best support business unit needs each fiscal year
Enterprise Program Implementation
• Working with HRBP, help to implement enterprise efforts as identified by Talent Planning Process, Executive Leadership and/or the HR Leadership team., e.g., Engagement Survey, Change Management, FY Strategic Initiatives
• Work across stakeholder groups to ensure effective change management on all enterprise initiatives to gain ultimate adoption of intended changes
OD Team, Thought Leadership & Content Development
• Participate in TOD team strategy and operations meetings, best practice exchanges and change management community of practice
• Stay abreast of discipline-related emerging trends and best practices (internally and externally) and identify additional opportunities for content development in service of emerging business needs
• Develop tools, frameworks, and processes to support capability development in key areas. Help design, develop, implement, and maintain a TOD tool knowledge portal for use internally.

• A bias for action, results-oriented, responsive to client needs and the pace of the business
• Organized program and project manager; able to balance the demands of strategic thinking, manage stakeholders with the pressure to deliver on your own work
• Demonstrate executive presence, maturity and flexibility in relationships with managers and executives at all levels; capable of navigating and building trust within a globally matrixed environment
• Demonstrate creativity in representing data and concepts visually; prepare compelling presentations for in person and virtual delivery
• An understanding of global preferences and cultural nuances impacting OD interventions at the system, team and individual levels
• Ability to travel when needed required (may be up to 40%)
• Advanced degree in industrial and organizational psychology, organizational development, psychology, sociology, business administration, education, or related area.
• 5-10 years of experience working with executive leadership, developing, launching and managing OD projects, and the full consulting cycles related to delivering on successful engagements
• Preferred but not required: Certification in change management, executive coaching, and a variety of psychometric instruments; Industry experience in automotive/OEM, or B2B models
