RxArt is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help children heal through the extraordinary power of visual art. We commission exceptional contemporary artists to transform sterile healthcare facilities into engaging and inspiring environments full of beauty, humor and comfort.
We are seeking a full-time Project Manager for the New York office who will work with President and Founder, Diane Brown, and her staff to help lead RxArt’s expansion of projects nationwide, and soon beyond. RxArt was founded 17 years ago and continues to grow every year. We are on track to produce 5 new projects by the end of 2018 in hospitals across the United States and Canada. Key projects are planned for Michigan, Southern California, Washington D.C., and Toronto.
The Project Manager will be a vital part of the RxArt team, working closely with each member of the staff, project artists and his or her studio, hospital liaisons, as well as fabrication and installation vendors. This individual must be extremely well organized, with a firm handle on the big picture and understanding of the fine details. This role requires a proactive manager who is an effective and clear communicator, a dynamic team player able to work with all types of personalities, and thrives working under pressure on tight deadlines and simultaneous projects. It is also crucial that this candidate believes in the importance of RxArt’s mission and of the respective artistic visions for each project.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
• A managing role in outlining and overseeing the project scope, schedule & milestones
• Create, monitor, and document the status of all RxArt projects and their protocols
• Establish, communicate, track and follow up on each project role–interfacing via phone, electronically and in person with details, responsibilities and deadlines
• Overseeing each project through proposal, budgeting, contract, production, and installation, keeping all affiliated advised of status
• Creating content for educational booklets and project related materials
REQUIREMENTS
• Demonstrated excellence in organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• 4+ years team and/or project management experience
• Experience creating and implementing project outlines, timelines and budgets
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Drive (Docs, Sheets) and cloud sharing platforms, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), and knowledge of databases (Salesforce preferred); Knowledge of SketchUp preferred; knowledge of Asana preferred
• Knowledge of fine art fabrication and installation vendors, materials and suppliers
• Knowledge of and interest in contemporary art
• BA (Business and Communications, Art preferred), MA (a plus)
