Scripps Political Correspondent -- If you have great passion for news, politics and innovation, this is the opportunity you have been looking for! The E.W. Scripps Company is looking for a multimedia journalist to cover stories in the Nation's Capitol.
The position would be based out of our Washington, D.C. bureau. The content will air on more than two dozen Scripps television stations across the country.

This person must be a great storyteller, who is ready to present political news in a new and impactful way.
Duties:
• Reports, writes and produces stories on deadline, for multiple platforms such as television, internet and digital channels.
• Uses social media to engage viewers, followers, and fans.
• Uses social media as a research tool.
• Learns new technologies and implements them in storytelling.
• Uses creativity to conceive new and exciting ways to engage viewers, followers, and fans in stories.
• Drives company vehicles on assignment.
• Some travel required
• Other duties as assigned
Education:
College degree or post-graduate studies in journalism, reporting and producing for television or film or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years experience on-camera reporting /anchoring.
Political reporting experience is a plus.

• Working knowledge of social media as a research tool.
• Comfort with an adlib production setting.
• Shows a passion for new technology.
• Highly creative.
• Open to feedback and applying it to strengthen on-camera presence.
• Highly comfortable and effective when working with the public and a wide array of community members.
• Familiarity with iNews is a plus.
• Able to lift 50lbs
