Overview and Responsibilities

Nickelodeon is seeking a Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Business Development who will lead the development of Nickelodeon’s long term consumer products/franchise strategy to ensure the divisions’ continued growth and profitability globally.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Overall Responsibilities
• Identify new business and partner opportunities in accordance with the consumer products group’s long-range strategy to ensure the divisions’ continued growth and profitability
• Oversee and expand key strategic partnerships that span across business areas (content, CP, Ad Sales)
• Evaluate, structure and negotiate strategic partnership deals related to the consumer products business and franchise properties, including acquisitions, equity investments, commercial agreements, co-productions, master CP licenses, etc.
• Partner with and support consumer products lines of business and franchise management efforts with analysis to identify new revenue-generating or growth opportunities
Specific Responsibilities
• Coordinate strategy and serve as the main point of contact for key partners with multiple internal touchpoints (e.g., Mattel, Walmart) and oversee quarterly reviews
• Bring cross-functional teams together to evaluate new opportunities, make strategic recommendations and optimize deal structures to grow the business
• Negotiate deals with new and existing partners to increase the size and scope of the business; partner with BALA to manage long form contract negotiations
• Facilitate communication and coordination with key internal stakeholders to maximize partnerships across business areas (Ad Sales, IMP, Digital, Programming)
• Develop business plans for new consumer products partnerships, categories and IP acquisitions
• Spearhead financial/operational integration of new business/property acquisitions/partnerships into the Company
• Liaise with EVP of Content Strategy and VP, Global Content Acquisitions to inform deal-making , particularly as it relates to key Nickelodeon partners with multiple touchpoints
• Partner with Strategy & New Business team on new business initiatives
Basic Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience working in media business development or digital distribution role
• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred.

• Strong negotiation & deal making skills a must
• Proven ability to think creatively and strategically while handling complex issues
• Exceptional people skills – including written and communications skills required to build and maintain excellent client & internal relationships
• Outstanding interpersonal capabilities and ability to interface with all levels of an organization and navigate various dynamics
• Ability to persuade senior executive management, build consensus and work in a team
• Excellent ability to organize, synthesize, and present information
