Scientific Games, a global leader in providing customized, end-to-end gaming solutions to lottery and gaming organizations worldwide, has an opening for an HR Generalist to plan and deliver generalist services. Working in concert with HR Management, these services include employee relations, talent development, staffing and compensation. Scientific Games integrated array of products and services includes instant lottery games, lottery gaming systems, terminals and services, internet applications, as well as server-based interactive gaming machines, casino games and associated gaming control systems.
Job Functions:
• Provides support to employees and managers in the handling of all human resource related activities which may include: employee relations, fielding employee questions or concerns, complaint investigation and response, workforce planning, performance management, goal setting and the interpretation of policies and procedures.
• Supports and serves as a liaison between employees and management under direction of the HR Business Partner and/or HR Leadership.
• Provides counsel to employees and management to maintain a productive and positive work environment, including employee development, coaching, recognition, dispute resolution, etc.
• Assist managers in coaching/ counseling/ discipline/ performance improvement plans with employees, as appropriate.
• Partners with Centers of Excellence (COE), managers, and other parties to effectively plan and manage employee leaves of absence, short-term disability, FMLA requests, workers compensation issues, employee accommodations/light duty coordination with management, OSHA requirements, employee transfers, PTO issues, payroll issues, unemployment claims, and other employee matters .
• Assists with both basic and comprehensive workplace investigations, ensuring timely, responsible. resolutions, consulting with HR/executive management, compliance and legal counsel as needed
• Conducts new employee orientation both locally and remotely.
• Works with management to determine recruitment needs and staffing objectives and assist Talent Acquisition with interviewing as needed.
• Recommends, communicates, maintains and interprets Human Resources policy and procedures.
• Ensures confidentiality, privacy, and legal compliance on all employee information as necessary.
• Collaborates within HR team to maintain accurate personal records and data requests including audit reviews. Work closely with management teams, legal and compliance as needed for terminations.
• Conducts exit interviews and completes employee off- boarding process.
• Coordinates regional employee goodwill and wellness events.
• Manages global recognition programs.
• Assists other HR team members with special projects/tasks as assigned.
• Prepares necessary reports as requested and/or required in a timely manner.
• Complies with all established state and federal laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
• Performs other assignments as deemed necessary by the Human Resources Manager.
Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in related field and minimum (3-5 years HR experience)
• SHRM-CP, PHR or substantially equivalent professional certification strongly desired
• Reporting and Analysis experience a plus
• Experience supporting remote workforce a plus
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within all functional areas of Human Resources (benefits, compensation, job evaluation, recruitment, employee relations, employment law, legal compliance, training and development, HRIS: ORACLE preferred, etc.)
• Union experience a plus
• Travel as needed: 20%
Skills/Abilities:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong problem resolution skills and the ability to effectively respond to questions, concerns and complaints from department leaders, internal customers and coworkers
• Ability to balance multiple priorities, work under pressure within established time constraints, meet deadlines and objectives, and proactively take a customer service approach to activities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Well organized and detail oriented with an ability to multi-task.
• Independent Self-Starter/Team Player
• Ability to navigate through complex organizational structures, systems and processes.
