Job Summary
Gain real-world experience in our 10 week 2018 Summer Internship Program in Accounting. Our internship will provide the student an opportunity to working in the following areas: Cash Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Accounting. Interns will gain practical work experience designed to expand their classroom education and career path as they prepare for a profession in the field of Accounting. Intern positions will be located at our Headquarters in Monroe, Louisiana.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Cash Accounting
• Assist with Bank Reconciliations, daily balancing, reconciliation and other balance sheet accounts
• Load bank statements into SAP for reconciliation
• Research and explain any outstanding cash reconciliation items
• Run SAP, WebFocus, Ensemble and various other reports to assist with cash variances and reconciliation
• Act as a liaison between Finance and Recon tool administrator for updates
• Research journal entries for reclassification
• Inventory Accounting
• Research inventory transactions for resolutions
• Research journal entries for reclassification
• Run SAP, WebFocus, Ensemble and various other reports to assist with journal entry reclassifications
• Populate SAP based on reports
• Preparation of reports for managers
Revenue Accounting
• Prepare invoices
• Assist with revenue processing while learning reimbursement systems
• Assist Accountants with financial analysis and reconciliations
• Assist with account payables and receivables
• Assist with audit preparation
• Populate SAP based on reports
• Preparation of reports for managers
Qualifications
• In pursuit of Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting
• Excellent analytical skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity in SAP
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines with data and result integrity
• Highly motivated, organized, reliable, and detailed oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Quick learner and not afraid to work with new computer based programs and databases
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Familiarity in SQL
Job Requirements:
• Must submit a resume, transcript, and a letter of recommendation (at time of interview with hiring manager)
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher (Preferred GPA 3.2)
• Must be currently enrolled at a 4-year accredited College or University
• Must be a rising junior, senior or graduate student
• Must work 30-40 hours per week during the 10 week session
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work daily for the duration of the internship
