Position Overview
Canon, U. S. A., Inc. is currently hiring for our 2018 Canon Insights Intern Program. The Insights Program is a comprehensive program that runs for 10 weeks during the summer. This is a full-time (9 AM to 5 PM), 35 hours a week, paid internship. This program is designed to provide students an opportunity to gain hands-on work experience by participating in significant work projects and exposure to various business units within Canon.
The ITCG Image Communication Product Marketing Division is seeking a Marketing Intern to support the market research and database marketing functions within the Camera/Video marketing team.
Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for providing market research support that enables them to understand the market and target audience for professional and consumer camera and video products. This will require:
• Compiling, analyzing and summarizing customer data
• Conducting competitor analysis and summarizing trends
• Identifying industry trends and business opportunities
• Applying insights garnered to develop recommendations for supporting business objectives
The candidate will also support summarizing third party studies to identify key market, technology, and consumers trends relative to core business objectives. Additionally, the candidate will assist in the creation of weekly point-of-sales data reports to inform the teams of the current market situation.
Qualifications
We prefer students that are entering their Junior or Senior year as of the Summer 2018, however, all are welcome to apply. To succeed in the Insights Program, you must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Power point, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We also require candidates to be enrolled in a related major in the department of interest and have some former work or internship experience.
The ideal candidate should be a student majoring in Marketing, Market Research, Business Administration, or related field. Candidate should have experience with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint, preferred. Candidate should be detail-oriented with strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and multi-tasking skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
