Position Summary
The Digital Producer is responsible for creation and production of content for Local Now; leveraging the organization’s broad range of content sources and editing capabilities to produce local news that matters. This position is responsible for producing segments, research & writing stories, booking interviews, video, producing cut-ins for market-specific coverage, as well as directing editors and writers to deliver content against deadlines.
The Digital Producer co-ordinates, supervises and plans projects involving the creation of digital media. They collaborate with multiple project teams or departments to produce packages for distribution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Responsible for story, content development which creates an emotional connection with audience.
● Researches top stories daily from multiple content partners to identify and propose content to be published.
● Collaborate on the selection, editing, publishing and distribution of live and on-demand video content.
● Enables a cross functional team of editors, meteorologist, video producers and others to deliver stories on time.
● Tag video content with editorial relevant metadata.
● Sets priorities and schedules to meet deadlines
Education, Experience, Certification Requirements
• 4 year college degree or equivalent in proven industry experience.
• 3 years production experience, preferably with a major digital property.
• News writing experience
• Experience using newsroom management systems and content management systems
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Personable with ability to interact with employees across the organization.
• Excellent video editing skills (e.g. Adobe Premier Pro)
• Excellent Written/Verbal communication skills
• Effective time management skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Ability to enterprise story ideas and work on segments from conception to completing
• Highly developed organizational skills
• Proactive in taking the initiative to learn new things.
• Proficient in project management

Hours
