Description
Creative Capital, a national nonprofit artist support organization, seeks an ambitious development professional to join our team as Development Manager. Creative Capital supports innovative and adventurous artists across the country by providing substantial financial investments, professional development, and community building and engagement opportunities that shape the creative sector nationally. As part of a four-person Development team, the ideal candidate will be passionate about contemporary art and the artists Creative Capital supports, and eager to bring fresh ideas for cultivating and stewarding new support for the organization. In particular, we are looking for someone who is excited to help reshape traditional development efforts and who brings experience and/or a deep interest in nonprofit fundraising, impact investing, corporate sponsorship, venture philanthropy, and other innovative areas of support-based work in and outside of the nonprofit sector.
Responsibilities:
• Manage a portfolio of funders that includes foundations, individuals, and government, with an emphasis on corporate supporters
• Work with the team to develop a corporate sponsorship program leveraging the organization’s vast assets to connect with like-minded, socially engaged companies of all sizes
• Produce sponsorship decks, grant proposals, and impact reports, and help to shape ideas around ROI (return of impact) for funding partners
• Assist with special events and other funder-based initiatives
• Manage portfolio funds processing
• Manage funder stewardship and new prospect cultivation
• Conduct funding partnership research, outreach, and tracking
• Other responsibilities in support of the department’s work
Requirements:
• 4+ years relevant professional experience in corporate development, CSR, partnership development, business development, marketing/branding, and similar fields. Career changers are encouraged to apply but please be specific about how your past experience relates to this position.
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills as evidenced through past work experience
• Self-directed but also excited to work collaboratively
• Detail-oriented with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Interest in contemporary art and artists and a passion to support their work
• Commitment to equality and social justice as evidenced through your work
The position is full-time (40 hours/week) in our NYC office with occasional evening hours for events and deadlines. It includes generous paid time off and benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience.
