About The Role
We are now looking for an experienced Divisional Financial Controller to provide a positive financial control environment, business support and oversight on varying financial projects throughout our Midway North America attractions. You will support the Finance Department with projects such as exceeding EBITDA targets, improving internal financial controls, and streamlining core accounting processes.
Responsibilities:
• Supports the Divisional Finance Director in establishing, maintaining and enhancing a positive control environment in Midway North America (MNA)
• Improves the control environment when deficiencies have been identified, either by divisional management or Internal Audit.
• Ensures regular contact with Regional Financial Controllers to understand progress against prior Internal Audit findings, identifies risks and provide appropriate solutions on a timely basis.
• Manages the MNA period end close including consolidated ledger close and reconciliation of intercompany balances
• Ensuring all information is fully reviewed and correct before presentation to the Finance Director or internal/external bodies
• Delivers meaningful &accurate cost center reports to the Central Support budget holders
• Manage the Accounts Payables function; develop the team and processes to ensure timely payments of vendors
• Manage core AP projects such as electronic vendor payments
• Leading the streamlining of core accounting streams & processes to create efficiencies
• Assists with finance management projects such as:
◦ Leading the streamlining of core accounting streams & processes to create efficiencies.
◦ Providing cover to key attraction finance roles (at Financial Controller or Finance Manager level) on a short term basis as required.
◦ Ensuring that existing estate attractions operate in accordance with the operating manual.
◦ Other ad-hoc projects as requested by the Midway North America Finance Director.
About You
• Minimum of 5-7 years of strong financial and management reporting, preferably in hospitality and/or tourism industry.
• At least 2 years of experience in management of teams, including assisting in training and development of team members.
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes, journal entries, internal controls, and external audits.
• Experience in budgeting, financial modeling, and analyzing data in order to identify trends, issues, or exceptions to drive improvement.
• Strong computer skills. Ability to utilize standard software applications to include MS Office suite and advance excel skills.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting software.
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task as necessary.
• Excellent management and interpersonal skills
• Possess strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Desire to work in fast-paced environments.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance. CPA/CMA or similar certification required.
