Spectrum is looking for a Human Resource Generalist who will be responsible for HR operations in our fast-paced, ever-changing call center environment. Serving as an HR Business Partner to leadership and employees, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record and passion for developing relationships with employees of all levels. You will be responsible for providing guidance to leadership and employees regarding human resources policies and procedures, assist in the areas of recruitment, employee relations investigations, and leaves of absence management. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• In conjunction with our third-party provider, track and maintain all leave of absence data; assuring company procedure is followed
• Assist in new employee orientations, completing the eVerify process and any outstanding onboarding duties
• Maintain electronic employee files and PeopleSoft HRIS database, human resource information system/records, compiling reports as required
• Review and process unemployment and workers compensation claims
• Partner with respective client group in order to understand the business challenges and to ensure effective and timely HR support.
• In coordination with HR leadership, assure all aspects of employee relations and Company policies are administered fairly and consistently.
• Provide consultative support to managers and supervisors and employees
• Assist with and conduct when necessary employee investigations; assist in the resolution of escalated employee issues, including ethics point reports.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of employee benefit programs, and assist in the successful open annual enrollment.
• Ensure legal compliance with all applicable local state and federal employment laws, including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA and ADAAA to minimize risk/exposure to the company.
• Participate in safety committee
• Perform other duties as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge:
• Working knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource administration; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with peers and employees; ability to present information and make recommendations effectively in a straight-forward oral and written form
• Ability to work independently, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with varied projects, deadlines and priorities
• Demonstrated knowledge of employment, labor and leaves of absence laws
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all employee levels
• Ability to speak in a public forum
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
• Must be fluent in Excel, PeopleSoft and MS Office
• Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
• Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties
• Knowledge of local state and federal employment laws and procedures
• Knowledge of wage and hour laws
• Knowledge of employee relation's procedures and applicable law
Education
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or organizational behavior or related field,
Related Work Experience
• 3 - 5 years Human Resource Generalist experience in a call center and/or multi-location environment
Certifications and/or Licenses
• Certifications for Human Resource Professionals (PHR, SPHR) preferred
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within company required standards
