Description
As an expert in delivering business intelligence for Autodesk, you will work with our team to answer critical business questions in a data-driven manner. This vital role will be responsible for helping the team address important business problems impacting our largest customers through deep data mining, statistical analysis, and identification of trends that will demonstrate ROI for customers and Autodesk alike. This role requires an excellent understanding of business analysis, data warehousing and data mining practices and experience building models to support business planning activities. Additionally, this role requires the ability to take large data sets and distill them into meaningful business insights that Autodesk and Customers alike can understand.
Some of the programs / projects the Data Scientist will work on include:
• Detailed analysis of product and services consumption for customers that have purchased Autodesk’s flexible licensing models
• Definition and delivery of Customer Profiles for Autodesk’s Named Account business
• Development and maintenance of financial modeling tools
• Ad hoc support for any data, reporting related issues that impact enterprise business models and enterprise customers
Primary Responsibilities:
• Discover, Compile and Empower internal Account teams with a factual Story that describes the adoption of consumption-based models for enterprise customers
• Provide in-depth technical insights into product usage reporting data captured from enterprise customers, including diagnosis of software license tracking and end-user behaviors
• Create dashboards for internal Autodesk teams that demonstrate key insights on Named Accounts regarding usage and adoption of Autodesk products and services
• Support the ongoing maintenance of tools used to support business development and financial modeling with Autodesk’s Sales organization
• Execute detailed trend analysis, deal analysis, and pricing analysis to produce “what-if” scenarios for financial models related to enterprise business models
• Share analytical insights with Finance, Industry Strategy & Marketing, Operational Support, Global Services, and Sales teams to highlight relevant trends, findings and opportunities to partner more with Named Account customers
• Demonstrate technical acumen as it relates to database data models, related technologies, Autodesk product and licensing, and reporting tools standards
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing and Validation of New Platform Capabilities around Consumption Reporting
• Provide expertise when needed to triage reporting issues and outages with operations and delivery teams
Business / Technical Skill Required
• Undergraduate or advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in data mining, data analytics, big data analytics or equivalent position
• Demonstrated ability with data analysis methods and analytics tools like Kafka, Splunk, Hadoop, Google Big Query, Tableau and more
• Experience working with statistics packages like R and developing scripts and using tools like Hive, Python, and Java
• Experience working with Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access development, including strong knowledge of VBA programming and SQL query development
• Self-starter: Can take a big idea or a complex problem, mine data to create insights, and use those insights to establish a point-of-view on the idea / problem
• Communicate a “story” using Big Data to influence business stakeholders and create calls to action with business stakeholders
• Desire to learn in a fast-paced environment
