Additionally, we host the top entertainers, family shows and special events at our venues.
Job Summary
As a member of Oracle Arena & Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum's Sales & Marketing Team, this role is responsible for reaching revenue goals for individual events as well as cumulative annual revenue goals. The Sales Manager is also responsible for identifying new business, nurturing existing client relationships, and developing sales strategies to promote a long-term partnership and client base. The Sales Manager is responsible for associated marketing, social media, promotions, reporting.
Essential Functions
• Responsible for developing relationships with prospective and current clients in an effort to promote and achieve specialty sales including concert club memberships, tours, and other inventory. This may include hosting lunch meeting with clients, holding in person meetings, and developing other effective sales strategies.
• Sell group tickets and suites for selected family shows and other special events via email marketing, contacting clients by phone, and working with current clients with annual purchases.
• Responsible for analyzing sales data and developing strategies to drive ticket sales. Develop and implement sales plans for family shows and selected events.
• Responsible for effectively managing the client experience and relationship by acting as the main point of contact for clients at events which includes ensuring all expectations have been met, tending to any immediate needs, and promptly finding a resolution for any issues that arise.
• Develop and provide sales reports and customer relationship status updates on a daily and weekly basis to Director of Marketing. This involves developing a case analysis of each client to examine how current sales are doing in comparison to previous years, and making improvements to the sales reporting strategy to better identify and evaluate client needs.
• Find and research local events and actively solicit new business through attending the community networking events.
• Update and grow sales database through cold calling, grassroots marketing, and working with the marketing department on other creative means to increase customer database.
• Work with Director of Marketing and/or Marketing Manager with marketing and promotions of all events to ensure all client expectations are fulfilled and in line with any sales related criteria previously established.
• Manage the Sales process for select large scale family shows at the Coliseum. This includes: selling venue suites on a one a one-off basis, hiring and overseeing contracted and part time employees for the events.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):
• A minimum education level of: BA/BS Degree (4-year) in a related filed
• A minimum of 2-4 years of related work experience
• Demonstrate success in driving ticket sales revenue
• Must be assertive, persistent, proactive, and results-oriented.
• Proven ability to handle a high volume of inbound and outbound phone call & emails
• Proven track record in developing long-lasting business relationships with corporate executives
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to consistently re-prioritize based on sales needs
• Strong organizational skills
• Superior customer service
• Experience with Ticketmaster and/or Salesforce preferred
• Availability and willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays when needed, during events
