Starz is seeking a consumer insights leader to join the Insights and Analytics department. S/he will serve as a change agent in the company – leading the company to an industry leading understanding of our customers. The position will also be charged with staying abreast of all applicable consumer trends and effectively communicating them to the relevant business units.
The candidate will be highly collaborative and work cross-functionally across all major departments. The role is highly visible and includes senior management stakeholders within marketing, press, product, development, and affiliate.
Responsibilities
• Plan, design, and execute cutting edge customer and consumer surveys to generative qualitative insights about our customers, our programming, our brand, and industry
• Build portfolio and manage budget for third party agencies, subscription, and syndicated services
• Work closely with other members of insights & analytics department to join data sources across verticals to create holistic understanding of customer and how they interact with our products
• Utilize and develop cutting edge techniques to test and understand what drives success with our original series. Communicate findings to development team and executive producers.
• Continually monitor and report high level consumer trends
• Develop deep understanding of business units’ needs and develop effective methods for communicating actionable insights
Required Skills:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of consumer insight experience at a top research company or research-driven organization
• Minimum 2 years developing and presenting research to senior management
• Extensive understanding of overall consumer and media behavior
• Strong background in qualitative and quantitative research, with expertise in a broad array of survey based statistical analyses, e.g. discrete choice, conjoint analysis, etc.
• Experience with television content testing and analysis
• Experience managing a customer panel
• Broad-based knowledge of syndicated research related to television/entertainment industry
• Strong communication and presentation skills – in particular an ability to effectively relay consumer insights through story-telling
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work effectively with all levels of management
• Occasional travel to Los Angeles
