Position Summary
Working under the direction of and in concert with the Starcom Content Director, the Associate Director leads his/her own team in the conception and production of innovative custom, business-building partnerships across a variety of media to connect with consumers. This involves working in close partnership with Starcom strategy and activation teams, AAI, clients, media partners (networks, integrated marketing teams, etc.), creative, studios and producers.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Relationship Development
• Candidate will interface with the market-place to maintain partnerships and relationships with key content developers (media partners, studios, producers, etc).
• Work to know and fully understand each content partners capabilities
• Candidate will be expected to utilize partner contacts internally and externally (Publicis partners, media partners, entertainment community, etc.) to proactively seek out information, connect the dots for agency brands, and opportunities for clients
• Keep pulse on the changing entertainment and technology landscape
Project Management
• Assist Director and/or lead overall project management, working closely with media teams and Business Affairs
• Candidate should feel confident navigating content based conversations with partners, media teams and legal starting from concept through execution
• Assist in negotiating deal terms with partners and executing contracts with Business Affairs team
• Formulate appropriate budges and build timelines
• Contact for client and media teams
• On-site for shoot/production
Team Player
• Work in lock-step with internal AAI team, Starcom strategy and activation teams to create best in class consumer content experiences including, but not limited to on-air, digital, retail, mobile, direct marketing, sweepstakes, contests, and celebrity endorsement campaigns
• Help the agency and client teams think more about the role of content as a key business driver
Overall
• Candidate will be responsible for developing targeted content programs to deliver upon clients’ goals and objectives.
• Deliver POV’s to client teams and or clients, idea generation, recommend appropriate opportunities/programs/partners and media outlets to media teams and/or clients
• Conduct brainstorms for a variety of brand teams
• Identify entertainment and consumer trends as well as think originally about the entertainment industry in conjunction with our clients’ brands
• Candidate will be responsible for working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse group of individuals, client accounts, content developers/partners and as a liaison between buying, planning and the creative content community
• Candidate will oversee a variety of projects at one time
• Lead career development for associate, and supervisor level staff to ensure all team members are challenged and given growth opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS
• Four-year bachelor’s degree with concentration in marketing, advertising, communications, or film production; MBA a plus
• 5+ years of progressive levels of responsibility within the entertainment industry, production or creative agency
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills
• Superior communication skills, including writing/presenting, creative briefs, service reports and summaries of industry news and/or POVs
• Ability to recognize quality programming opportunities, create/script program concepts for network and cable television shows that fit clients’ needs
• Developed contacts within the digital and/or entertainment/promotional marketing communities, ability to strategically think from a client’s perspective
• Sophisticated understanding of entertainment, consumer trends and insights
• Strong positive attitude, analytical aptitude, creativity, intelligence, organizational skills and a motivated spirit
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities
• Ability to work successfully with teams on multiple projects under tight deadlines. High attention to detail. Comfort with ambiguity and change
• Success working in a fast-paced, high stakes environment
