Pearson, the world's leading learning company, is currently seeking a Strategic Marketing Manager to support our Talent Assessment product line within the Clinical Assessment division. Pearson Clinical Assessment (www.pearsonclinical.com) is particularly noted for our gold-standard assessment contributions in cognitive/ability, memory, neuropsychology, behavior, personality/psychopathology, achievement and speech/language. Talent Assessment (www.talentlens.com) is an important division within the Clinical Assessment business and includes reputable ability and personality products such as Raven’s, Watson-Glaser and Bennett Mechanical.
The Strategic Marketing Manager - Talent Assessment provides a strategic marketing expertise that will develop and coordinate new plans and content that provide customer value, generate leads and revenue, and build market awareness of Pearson Talent Assessments. They will propose programs and activities designed to maximize revenue and will oversee tactical execution by internal marketing support groups, as well as external vendors for the US Talent and Career Readiness team. This individual provides direction, strategy, and guidance to the Product Managers and Talent Assessment Sales team, in keeping with overall global strategic direction provided by the Product Line Lead. This position will primarily support US based marketing activities (90%), but will need a Global perspective as well (10%). This position reports to the Director of Strategic Marketing, Clinical Assessments.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Create, implement, and monitor marketing plan, campaign plan & budget for responsible area for new product launches and portfolio
• Lead generation and revenue creation for field sales team and direct selling
• Channel support in the form of selling and marketing tools and training
• North America and Global campaign planning for Talent Assessment solutions
• Drive Pearson brand in responsible market segment
• Conference and Events strategy for responsible area
• Competitive analysis & distinction, win loss analysis for responsible area
• Customer segmentation
• Support for customer relationship management
• Identify customer needs and market trends
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or equivalent discipline. MBA preferred
• 7+ years marketing manager experience
• Some experience in a field related to talent assessment or human resources management
• Requires demonstrated knowledge and effectiveness with digital direct marketing, lead generation and sales support activities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective problem solving and decision making skills
• Experience marketing digital products or who has worked in an industry where there has been migration desirable
• Marketing automation campaign development experience preferred
• Experience in the technology marketing or product marketing preferred
• Experience with managing and influencing in a matrixed environment helpful
