Job Description
The VP, Data & Content Management reports to the SVP, Data Strategy, based in Barcelona. The individual will be part of the Data Strategy Leadership Team.
This role will oversee the Data & Content Management team, which contains our Market Data, VentureSource, Company & Executive, and Content teams. The teams have individuals located globally and the role will be accountable for the successful delivery of targets in all regions. The individual is also responsible for bringing this new team together and creating a unified and aligned group that can continue to grow in the future.
Responsibilities
• Oversee delivery of four distinct data and content management teams located globally - VentureSource, Company & Executive, Market Data and Content
• Responsible for all elements of delivery of proprietary and third party content and data
• Work closely with directors and managers to effectively develop, focus and people manage your team
• Build and maintain strong, strategic, senior-level relationships with key internal and external clients
• Manage expectations internally regarding resources, schedules and budgets, as well as track capacity, forecast trends, and update the business as needs change
• Drive process improvement, automation and standardization wherever possible
• Communicate group wide messages clearly and efficiently to all members of the team
Share views on wider Data Strategy direction and focus
Skills & Experience
• 10+ years in data or content management with an emphasis on database management in particular with company and people data
• Minimum 5 years in data creation (primary and/or secondary research, AI-driven data)
• Minimum 5 years managing and motivating a global team (50+ people)
• Must have experience leading diverse functional areas lead by senior managers/directors
• Proven ability to define requirements and processes to execute on new and existing data management projects
• Practical knowledge of Dow Jones propositions or competitive strategies and solutions, in particular within the Professional Information Business (PIB)
• Ability to travel on a moderate basis
• Comfortable working with budgets and numbers
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Proven track record of effectively implementing change with demonstrable metrics to illustrate success
• Experience managing through different stages of the product lifecycle
• Extensive understanding and experience participating in sales cycle
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
• Exceptional organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities and detail oriented
This job can be based in either Barcelona or Princeton.
