Overview
The Community Relations Specialist will be a key player in growing non-traditional revenue. This position will act as a liaison between the sales department, promotions department; identifying, developing and managing sponsorship opportunities tied to community and cause-related initiatives and events. This individual will be highly skilled in creating influential PowerPoint presentations with the ultimate goal of driving key revenue. The Community Relations Specialist will be detailed and organized in managing multiple projects or sponsorships at any given time. This individual will work closely with the Sales Manager and Station Manager to also identify, communicate and solidify key contacts in the business and political community for station management. This individual will be responsible for external networking in an effort to build bridges between clients, viewers and community.
Responsibilities
This position will report to the Station/Sales Manager and responsibilities will include:
• Development of revenue driven community campaigns-Excel in PowerPoint and utilizing/interpreting research software including Scarborough, NLTV and ComScore to gain best outcome.
• Baseline knowledge of available TV and digital products and the best application for each to drive results for more revenue and viewers.
• Strong communication skills internally and externally.
• Being well organized and have strong attention to detail.
• Attending community business functions on a consistent basis for networking.
Qualifications
• Proficient in basic computer skills including Internet, PowerPoint, Excel and Word; previous work experience in traffic systems and research software a plus
• Minimum 3 years with a media company working inside (or closely) with sales and promotions in a support capacity
• College Degree Preferred
