Position Summary:
The SiriusXM Radio Ad Sales department is currently seeking a Director of Ad Sales Planning to join their team who is highly motivated, independent and creative. This person must be very detail-oriented, be very organized, have excellent communication skills, and display a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced work environment. The Ad Sales Planning department manages and prices our entire commercial advertising inventory while working closely with the advertising sales staff to facilitate the selling of radio advertising by providing plans that meet the needs of clients and agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Review and approve all sales proposals
• Responsible for efficiently monetizing inventory to maximize revenue
• Review daily inventory of channels/shows across all regions and report trends to management
• Strategically determine, working with the head of planning, the most effective use of inventory
• Serve as an expert of the inventory for all of our ad supported channels
• Integral part of maintaining pricing guidelines
• Work with head of planning to develop inventory management system
• Develop materials to help track year over year plans and orders
• Provide consolidated weekly summary reports on proposal success rate for sales management
• Assist in building annual and quarterly budget/forecast models
• Present and discuss proposals with upper management
• Work closely with planners and Account Executives throughout the country
• Interact with clients and agencies as necessary
• Suggest any changes to system/business practices necessary to maximize our revenue
• Partners with SVP, regional VPs, and head of planning as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• There will be supervisory responsibilites.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent relevant experience, with 6+ years of experience working in an Ad Sales department in the Pricing & Planning function in media advertising (radio a strong plus)
Requirements and General Skills:
• Must have strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Strong understanding of pricing a variety of inventory
• Knowledge of inventory and ad sales reporting systems
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; excellent time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to use information as a tool to exploit new revenue opportunities
• History of delivering projects on time with high level of accuracy under strict deadlines
• A strong desire to work in Ad sales and a team environment
• Effective and clear verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent relationship building and follow-up skills
• Self-starter, ability to work independently in a fast-paced, demanding environment
• Must be outgoing, organized, efficient, team player and a strategic thinker
• Wide Orbit experience, a major plus
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Expert in Microsoft Excel and excellent mathematical skills
