Job Description:
The Senior Brand Strategist is responsible for keeping the account in motion. They manage all day to day stewardship items, with accuracy and on time, overseeing and proofing work flow of Assistant/Brand Strategist. The Senior Brand Strategist is constantly aware of the media budgets and the state of the competitive landscape, holding a history of such details in mind. On the cusp of strategic leadership, Senior Brand Strategist plays an important part in brainstorming sessions and status meetings/calls. Working with Brand Strategy Supervisor, the Senior Brand Strategist helps to develop planning decks, POVs, and media/marketplace analyses.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
40% - Stewardship
35% - Strategic Planning
25% - Client Relations
• Build/strengthen relationships with core clients and industry partners, by serving as a key HMI contact
• Oversee all day to date stewardship items, guiding the education and development of Assistant/ Brand Strategist
• Assist in the development of sound, strategic media plans, with guidance/input from Strategy Supervisor, all based on client direction and with an understanding of media principles
• Own the flow of any plan changes/revisions based on altered marketing direction from client, including ensuring revisions are being clearly labeled and outlined
• Supervise the implementation of media campaigns, working closely with activation teams to bring the media plan recommendation to life and issuing media plan deliverables to the client
• Continue to strengthen understanding of media strategy and applications, arranging vendor presentations to learn about new media opportunities that could enhance clients’ media plan effectiveness
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Guide Assistant/Brand Strategist’s growth within Horizon, and the industry at large, providing education on Horizon best practices, media principals, industry
• Effectively manage Assistant/Brand Strategist’s day-to-day workflow, overseeing/proofing all work produced for distribution
• Contribute to performance reviews of Assistant/Brand Strategy, identifying strengths and areas for growth
• Participate in interview process for Assistant/Brand Strategist roles
Knowledge and Skills Required
• At least 2-4 years planning experience
• Solid understanding of media math, terminology and basic analytical tools (MRI/Simmons, R/Fs, etc.)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Client relationship management experience
• Experience developing and presenting plan presentations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
