We are seeking a Consumer Sales and Marketing manager based in Rochester, NY with
responsibilities and support for sites in NY and Vermont.
The Consumer Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, executing and
monitoring the subscription of sales, retention, and engagement strategies in order to meet revenue objectives.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: planning sales and marketing
scheme for local sites, management of the day-to-day coordination and execution
of local sales programs through direct marketing, event sales, social media,
display advertising, mobile transactions, search engine marketing and email as
directed by the Group Sales and Marketing Manager. Position must effectively
collaborate and communicate with local newsroom and brand marketing teams and
work closely with Group sales teams to develop local growth strategy. The local
sales manager should have a working knowledge of digital marketing and will be
expected to research, implement and expand on direct marketing sales sources.
This position reports to the Group Sales Manager.
Inthis role, you will:
• Effectively execute the sales and retention plans to grow subscription-based revenue across
multiple platforms at specific properties.
• Increase engagement with subscriber offerings to increase loyalty and market penetration.
• Collaborate on and monitor integrated direct response campaigns using a variety of digital resources and tools, print ads, direct mail, email, inserts, as well as other internal and external available resources.
• Communicate programs, results and accomplishments to C-Level managers and local publisher. Communication of all promotions to local sites and to the CSC.
• Handle special projects as assigned by the Group Home Deliver Sales Manager and/or Regional Sales Manager.
• Responsible for adhering to safety procedures, ensuring a safe work environment and reporting injuries to determine cause and take necessary preventative action.
• Expand and develop relationships with vendors, internal customers, external customers and area businesses.
Here’s what you need:
• College degree with specialization in marketing and/or communications preferred or equivalent years of experience within field may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Strong project management and problem solving skills
• Excellent rapport and relationship building skills
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with direct marketing, event sales, social media, display advertising, mobile transactions, search engine marketing and email
• Proficient with and high level usage of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Well-versed in knowledge of sales, methods, channels and analysis
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
• Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and a good driving record
• Knowledge of presentation software is a plus
• This position occasionally requires both evening and weekend
work. Occasional travel both in and out-of-state could be required. This position works in a fast-paced environment.
