APD/AM Show Producer
Job Summary:
IHeartMedia Cape Cod has a rare opening for an Assistant Program Director/AM Show Producer. The ideal candidate would have experience in producing a phone & interview-intensive news/talk program, as well as have great people and organizational skills to build and maintain a database of local, regional & national figures that would provide insight into show topics. He/she must also have good communication skills, as you’ll work directly with the show host to cull through the current events of the day to come up with a show plan that will continue to keep the program a ratings winner! You’ll also be on the frontlines to the listeners, as you will screen all phone calls before they hit the airwaves. Also, social media & digital experience is required to ensure that we are continually on point and up to date in that arena. And as APD, this person will also work closely with the SVPP to assist him in all of his day-to-day programming duties with all stations in the cluster, so the ability to take and follow direction is a must.
Responsibilities:
• Work with the show host to provide daily direction & content for the Ed Lambert Show
• Oversee imaging, production, stream fill & overall sound of the morning show
• Oversee the airing of all phone calls to ensure optimal quality on-air
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding indecency and obscenity
• Oversee the booking of all guests for interviews
• Work with local, state & federal political leaders to secure timely interviews for the show
• Work closely with PD, SVPP, sales & promotions departments to maximize and expand the brand of the show, including promotions and live remote broadcasts
• Oversee morning show’s social media and station website accounts
• Assist the SVPP in the day-to-day operations of all stations in the cluster
• Informs the SVPP & PD’s of any anomalies or deficiencies that may warrant correction or resolution
• Ensure programming essential to the stations’ operations are aired
• Participates in required station Programming, Promotions, and Sales staff meetings and events
• Is an ambassador for the stations when out in public; maintains a positive and approachable attitude when around listeners and clients
• May work flexible hours and weekends, as necessary, and be on call for possible disasters, breaking news or acts of nature
Work experience
• Minimum of 2 years on-air radio experience, programming, production, promotions and/or marketing
• NexGen, Adobe Audition and imaging production experience a plus
Certifications
• Valid driver’s license
