I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
The Broadcast Engineer installs, supports, and maintains electronic equipment, IT networks and mechanical systems in a broadcast television studio and News broadcast environment. Electronic equipment includes microwave radios, HD cameras, video servers, video routers, ENG, SNG vehicles and cellular mobile systems. IT network systems include, but not limited to PC networks, Production Automation, News Editing and other IT operating systems. Mechanical Systems include HVAC and Electrical systems.
II. Essential Job Functions
Weight % - Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results
45% - Ensure the operation, maintenance and integrity of all equipment and systems related to broadcast television, News and Digital News.
20% - Provide technical assistance to remote broadcast operations.
20% - Provide assistance to the IT Staff.
10% - Performs preventative maintenance as appropriate on station equipment.
5% - Additional duties as required.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education level in Electronic Engineering and or Information Technology.
Experience:
Five years related broadcast television work experience.
Experience in troubleshooting methodologies that apply to RF, electronics, network Server/PC environment and standalone workstations.
Microsoft and Macintosh operating systems. Experience in a corporate computer network environment.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledgeable in electronics, troubleshooting and repair.
Knowledgeable in computer networking.
Good decision-making skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Good communication skills and the ability to relay critical information to the appropriate staff.
Ability to communicate with non-technical personnel to resolve equipment issues.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to prioritize and make frequent changes to work plans without loss of efficiency or composure.
Avid experience preferred.
SBE-CBTE, CBNT certifications and or FCC License preferred.
