3D Artist Intern for the StarCraft II Art Team
Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an exceptionally skilled 3D Artist Intern to work on StarCraft II. The ideal candidate has experience designing, modeling, and texturing a diverse visual range of in-game vehicles, characters, and props. Whether creating insectoid Zerg, gritty Terran, or the sleek Protoss, this person has a solid grasp of form, color, and lighting for both 2D and 3D art assets, to help bring our amazing Blizzard universes to life.
Eligibility Requirements
• Currently enrolled in a college or university, or planning to enroll in Fall 2017
• Returning for at least one more semester or quarter following the Summer 2018 internship
• Able to work fulltime hours for 11 – 12 weeks at the Blizzard office indicated in this job posting between May 2018 – August 2018 or June 2018 – September 2018 (group dates depend on when you get out of school)
Authorized to work in the USREQUIREMENTS
• A passion for video games
• Self-motivation, good communications skills, and a great team-player attitude
• Experience modeling and texturing 3D assets using 3DS Max and Photoshop (or equivalent 3D and 2D programs)
• A good grasp of form, shape, structure, and silhouette in regard to modeling
• Superior eye for light, shade, color, and detail in creating texture maps of different material types
RECOMMENDED TALENTS
• Knowledge and understanding of the StarCraft universe.
• Experience with Mudbox, ZBrush, (or equivalent modeling programs) and the process of converting high-poly sculpted environments into lower poly game assets
• Strong foundation in the traditional arts including, but not limited to, figure drawing, environmental, and /or architectural illustration
