Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a manager to lead the Data Operations team with strong communication skills and a demonstrated aptitude for structuring and synthesizing large amounts of data. This role will work closely with our Digital Marketing & Media, B.I, and Publishing teams, focusing on operational analysis of our ECRM and paid media campaigns across the EU region.
Responsibilities
• Provide operational insights on media and ECRM campaign performance
◦ Evaluate the operational performance of digital marketing actions, using a variety of tools such as Google Analytics, external tracking data, in-house data warehouse etc.
◦ Assist research and development of Marketing Technology data projects
• Assist with reporting, segmentation, and campaign optimization.
◦ Maintain and extend operational reporting framework
◦ Extract data for campaign targeting
◦ Build new insights into campaign performance to enable an iterative segmentation process
• Align Development with business objectives.
◦ Assist paid media tracking and measurement to enhance cross-device, attribution modelling, and platform integration.
◦ Create deliverables that provide tangible insights into go-to-market campaigns (presentations, reports, requirements, flow diagrams).
◦ Mentor others to develop analytical methodologies.
Requirements
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a comparable role
• Proven experience analyzing data using mathematical and statistical methods
• Expert knowledge of R language
• Fluent in SQL
• Passion for gathering and analyzing data to develop recommendations and find practical applications.
• Curious, internally-motivated self-starter with ability to plan, organize, and establish priorities to manage multiple projects and achieve results
• Strong communications, presentation, and facilitation skills: must have the ability to structure a concise, clear presentation of findings, based on large sets of complex data, and effectively present this to any level in the organization
• Experience collaborating with a variety of stakeholders, including globally, to track, capture, compile, analyze and report on data, as well as champion key initiatives born out of research.
• Experience managing a team
• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Software Engineering or a relevant technical field
Pluses
• Experience with Shiny R libraries
• Experience with developing R packages
• Familiarity with with C, Java, or SAS languages
• Familiarity with Python language
• Familiarity with JavaScript
• Knowledge of project management tools like JIRA
• Expertise with Google Analytics, and Measurement Protocol
• Expertise with media attribution and predictive modelling
• Experience with data storage systems like Hadoop, Bigtable, Redshift
• Experience working with marketing related data
• Experience working with DMPs
• Knowledge of Blizzard games, products, and services
