Cyber Threat Intel Intern, Corporate - Spring 2018
OVERVIEW: A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF YOUR DEPARTMENT
The INFOSEC team is responsible for providing information security services to Sony Pictures Entertainment and its subsidiaries. The Security Operations team is specifically responsible for Incident Response, Threat Analysis and the day to day operation of cyber security tools. We are seeking an intern to join either the Incident Response or Cyber Threat Analysis team based on candidates and interest.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Incident Response: Investigate and analyze event data to determine an incident has occurred. Confirmed incidents must be fully investigated, documented and remediated
• Threat Analysis: Perform all source (Internet, Dark Web, Commercial, and Proprietary data) searches and analysis to understand and predict threats and threat groups that target Sony Pictures networks
• Help to identify patterns in large data sets
• Develop methods to filter/interpret large data sets for leadership
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Enrollment in an accredited college/university for the duration of the internship
• Currently pursuing a Master's or Bachelor's in a technology related field
• Technical familiarity with Windows 7 (ex: registry hives, File Artifacts, etc.)
• Exposure to advanced data analysis
• Exposure to Malware concepts
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently on small projects
• Strong background in general IT / Operation Systems / Network Protocols
• Strong logic skills regarding the interconnectivity of systems, software and networks
• Familiarity with log analysis
• Familiarity with Splunk
• Desire to learn and able to take initiative in researching solutions to problems
• Experience with scripting

This Spring internship is from Tuesday, January 9th or Wednesday, January 17th through May 4, 2018. All candidates must be able to work 10-29 hours a week with respect to their school schedule and be enrolled in an accredited degree program for the entire duration of their internship.
