Responsibilities
Serve as main day-to-day point with all brand partner relationships. Establish new relationships and maintain existing ones. Serve as liaison with label staff and artist management to ensure seamless execution of partnerships. Lead pitch efforts for new and existing brand partners. Provide budget oversight.
• Identify and communicate with sponsors and potential sponsors to maximize exposure with the creation, development and/or execution of national and local promotions and partnerships, developing non-traditional revenue streams for the label; generate and present pitches; oversee marketing and presentation materials
• Serve as main day-to-day point with all brand partners, both new and existing
• Build and maintain relationships with brand contacts at radio chains to create additional opportunities to gain exposure to the country radio audience beyond airplay o Through label-initiated third-party partnerships o Through station-initiated third-party partnerships
• Strategize with label staff on specific market needs and future opportunities, as well as special event budgets to find ways to subsidize expenses through sponsorship and third-party partnerships
• Travel to key markets to establish and maintain relationships with various decision-makers, and to fulfill client commitments
• Oversee execution of events & contests with artists in conjunction with national contests, tours, & single/album launches
• Create ways to find opportunities within existing new media partnerships to create additional value for third-party partners and sponsors
• Maintain communication and develop relationships with other stakeholders in key markets – including sports teams, media outlets, venues, and promoters – to support artists (and label partners/sponsors) with the opportunities and PR these outlets provide (i.e. the ‘all media’ approach)
• Create budgets and provide budget oversight for all partnership activities
• Develop and maintain strong, effective, collaborative working relationships with label artists and management teams to best allow for success via brand alignment/implied endorsement opportunities with third-party partnerships and sponsorships
• Serve as business unit liaison with Sony Music and Sony Corporation partnership and licensing staff, (US and international), as well as counterparts in similar roles at other Sony Music labels. Develop effective communication with staff and partner on opportunities. Actively participate in/take the lead on broader Sony Music initiatives. Ensure best practices are shared.
• Train, oversee, and supervise the work of the new business team; provide regular coaching to direct reports; develop team to ensure work quality is best-in-class and department culture is collaborative and open.
• Monitor and evaluate strategy on a consistent basis to ensure plans and objectives are met, expected results are achieved, and guidelines and policies are observed; provide analytics/metrics and prepare reports related to achievement of goals
Qualifications
Knowledge of development and execution of national and local promotions and partnerships that provide non-traditional revenue streams (typically gained through five or more years of experience); Bachelor degree or equivalent experience preferred
Proven success with execution of brand partnerships
Experience in role that required development of relationships with brand partners, sports teams, ad and media agencies, media outlets, venues, and/or music promoters; experience in a large, complex organization preferred
Experience working in the music, entertainment, media, and/or advertising industry
Experience aggressively pursuing new business while demonstrating a positive attitude
Demonstrated success negotiating and closing deals
Impeccable presentation development skills (videos, decks, one sheets)
Experience collaborating cross-functionally in execution of strategy
Rigorous analytical and quantitative skills
Experience reading contracts and understanding legal terminology preferred
Strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office (particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher); basic skill with Adobe Photoshop preferred
Demonstrated ability to exhibit a professional, confident, and positive manner in dealing with others and to work to maintain constructive working relationships; a high comfort level interacting with C-level executives, as well as high profile clients; ability to discern and navigate internal politics
Ability to meet deadlines, working on multiple priority tasks simultaneously; ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions
Willingness to travel
Ability to manage budgets
