Macmillan Education, part of Springer Nature, is looking to recruit a Digital Producer. The role will be based within the Global Operations Department, located in London.
The main responsibility of this position is to manage digital content implementation from initial scheduling through content preparation to full platform delivery at final go-live. This requires, working collaboratively with the Editor and publishing Project Manager to control workflow processes and improve them where possible. As well as, liaising with technical stakeholders regarding digital process issues, which might include platform updates, pre-flight and acceptance testing, trafficking of assets and software update versions.
Robust archiving of digital assets and associated administration and work flow documentation is essential. As is an ability to budget and cost control product development from conception to delivery.
To be successful in this role you must be well-organized, flexible, adaptable, personable and able to multi-task. You must be a team player, preferably with a background in publishing. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a keen interest and experience of working with new media, as well as an ability to learn complex systems and get to grips with technical information and procedures quickly. The ideal person will enjoy solving problems and planning projects meticulously. An ability to work openly and effectively with technical and publishing teams within an agile environment and a willingness to take on responsibilities and deliver on time and in full are key to this role.
Essential requirements
• Proven project management skills
• Experience of digital product development
• Experienced in the manipulation and transfer of a variety of digital assets
• Strong interpersonal skills
• An aptitude to learn new systems and software tools quickly
• Experience of Digital content delivery workflows
• Understanding of end to end digital development workflow
Desirable requirements:
• Proficiency in working with Illustrator and Photoshop
• Experience of XML workflows
• Understanding of User Experience and User Interface design
• Experience of working with Learning Management Systems
• An understanding of print production workflows and scheduling
• An understanding of Agile methodology
• Educated to degree level
