Description
The Business Relationship Director (BRD) reports to the Director, Global Content Solutions. Based in the US, the BRD co-ordinates a number of large-scale, strategic initiatives across Pearson, leading others across Pearson to solve complex technical, operational or organisational problems, in a matrixed team structure. The role facilitates dialogue across functions, utilising tried and trusted governance models within industry standard approaches to program and project management. The BRD interprets internal/external business challenges and inputs into improvements to products and services in response. The role empowers others to understand the reasons for change and their role in it. The BRD maintains developed relationships with senior leaders and leads relationships with high profile customers and suppliers.
Essential Skills include:
● Proven ability to manage a diverse group of business stakeholders, driving multi-part, long term strategic initiatives to completion
● Strong understanding and proven experience in building and delivering governance frameworks across multi-functional teams
● Problem solving and fluency in strategic frameworks and other forms of strategy analysis, in a complex, changing industry
● Ability to lead development of strategic scenarios and financial modelling and understand financial analysis
● Ability to frame business issues and communicate goals clearly to executives and cross-functional teams alike
● Understanding of key issues and trends in the education industry
● Fluency in managing strategic and product-related issues in high-technology setting
● Fluency in process engineering
● Ability to lead cross-functional teams in converting strategic guidance into execution
● Excellent oral and written communication skills
● Experience in change management highly desirable
Qualifications:
● BA or equivalent required
● 8-10 years experience with a minimum 5 years’ experience in a strategy / product management / corporate planning role at an education or technology company and/or in venture capital, management consulting, ideally with activities in education.
● Proven record of leadership and success
PMP or Prince 2 Project Management qualification
