Tax Director - Americas
Description
This job involves the following:
• Overall management of Canada and LATAM regions, including planning; implementing cross-border M&A and post-acquisition integrations; compliance and controversy.
• Subject matter expert for US taxation of foreign source income – 956, subpart F income, E&P, 901 and 902.
• Creating and implementing planning strategies to help minimize the company's financial tax rate, reduce tax impact in P&L and reduce its cash tax expense.
• Monitoring US and regional tax developments and modeling the impact - informing key stakeholders accordingly.
• Managing and supporting tax audits in Canada and LATAM regions.
• Coordinating and reviewing quarterly and annual Income Tax Provision and Deferred Tax required for consolidated financial reporting for the Canadian and LATAM legal entities.
• Managing the foreign tax packages and interfacing with the foreign provision team.
• Coordinating indirect and income tax compliance for Canada and LATAM regions and ensuring timely filing of all tax returns and filings.
• Managing the Canada and LATAM region transfer pricing arrangements and ensure compliance with all statutory filings.
• Reviewing third party agreements and recommending alternative transactional structure to minimize U.S. and International tax liabilities.
• Preparing intercompany agreements.
• Supporting cash tax and legal entity income projections for FP&A.
• Maintaining SOX documentation and processes related to international taxation.

The minimum requirements for this job are:
• 10-15 years of international corporate taxation experience.
• JD, LLM in Taxation and/or MST.
• Creative thinking.
• Flexible mindset and willingness to embrace change.
• Experience with the technology industry and a robust network of peers and advisors in the technology industry.
• Knowledge of income and indirect tax compliance in the Canada and LATAM region preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills to interact with all levels of an organization.
• Proven track record of project management and organization skills.
• Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
• Team oriented, self-motivated, and willing to take ownership of projects.
• Spanish/Portuguese/French a plus
